The Santa Barbara is the best small zoo I've been to. The map was easy to follow, they had a wide variety of animals, and the hours and parking are great! I would definitely recommend going to the zoo when you visit Santa Barbara! You don't have to be a kid to enjoy this place (my boyfriend and I are in our 20's and we loved it!)
Pros: everything!
Cons: you will spend a long time in the gift shop! beware!

the zoological gardens have a great variety of animals and offer many activiites for the whole family. give conservation tips as well !

The Santa Barbara zoo is a large small zoo. Being only 2 blocks from the beach the zoo offers great views from every point. There are many animals to see from elephants, gorillas, lions, giraffes and so many more. All the exhibits are well designed in naturalistic settings. There are even areas to rent out for private events, places to eat, a train ride and so much more!
PROS: Family friendly, inexpensive, open all year long.
